Havard, one of the most prestigious universities in the world, invented and started implementing the AI (artificial intelligence) project on campus. It sounds crazy that the AI is hired to become a TA assisting professors and students in these first introductory Computer Science classes. Known as the AI ChatBot, it has been trained for certain behaviors and to “be a good teacher” as Professor David Malan said. It guides students on how to solve the problem instead of handing the answer to them as the ChatGPT does. Although the AI ChatBot has been fixed on some restrictions of operating and accessing accurate information, it is a further milestone marking the AI gradually merging in education.
Being in the information revolution, humans always have a higher demand and expectation of technology, especially AI. The participation of AI in human existence demonstrates how humans develop in evolution, and we cannot deny that technologies have been our “special assistants” enhancing our efficacy and efficiency in work, school, and daily life. However, some individuals take advantage of science and engineering inventions to serve their bad purposes. For instance, AI has become a controversial topic in the educational environment, in which students probably cheat on exams or essays by asking ChatGPT to do for them. Conversely, the AI ChatBot has its proper attitudes and acts in helping students debug by themselves. I believe that not only do I get interested in the way that it helps the students think critically about the lecture as the teachers do. As I am pursuing a Computer Science major, being not afraid of AI will reduce my job opportunities in the future, I have seen this article as the motivation to be successful in my major and engage in creating beneficial inventions for society.
